Preserving heritage and honoring cultural art is key in our product development. The Artisans we collaborate with have the freedom to create using their traditional designs and methods. The people and places responsible for the techniques and products are given full credit. Our collections are named after the country in which they are produced, and we often use subcategories or naming systems that pay homage to a design’s original meaning. We also educate our community about the original meanings of various symbols we use in our designs. A library of traditional Guatemalan motifs and symbols we’ve researched and documented can be found here.

Elements of design are not taken out of context from the cultures of origin. The designs we collaborate on are created handcrafted by the cultures they originated from, the Artisans are paid fairly, and we partner with them regularly to provide consistent and reliable work.
