Guatemala
One of a Kind bags are made using upcycled Maya apparel that was woven with a back strap or a foot loom many years ago. We travel to remote Guatemalan villages and pick patterns from thousands of traditional huipils (shirts) and cortes (skirts) previously worn by native Guatemalan women.

Designed in the USA, made in Ghana and inspired by french wicker baskets, we made the perfect summer bags! The Ghana collection comes in two styles: Full Moon Straw Bag, and Half Moon Straw Clutch.

The colors in each bag are the weavers choice and so each piece is one of a kind! No two will ever be exactly alike!
Sustainably Sourced
To create these exclusive bags, weavers harvest the center stalk of tall Kinkahe grass. which will quickly replenish itself, resulting in a sustainable straw for the future. The straw is hand-dyed twice in boiling water and woven into our exclusive bags.
Preserving Culture
Weaving has been a traditional skill in Northern Ghana for many generations. By purchasing one of these unique creations, you are contributing to the preservation of African culture and the weavers financial independence.

True Craftsmanship
The Heritage & Society panels are newly woven panels made on a backstrap loom. We design each new panel with the intent to preserve the culture and tradition of Maya weaving but to also infuse new colors and pattern combination that compliment the design! Depending on the difficulty, it can take 7-12 days to make each panel.
